Manufacturing

Parity Food Manufacturing drives operational excellence at the crossroads of your company. All aspects of manufacturing: operations planning, materials management, cost management, and quality control, make up the essence of what customers pay for.

Whether your production is batch or continuous, bulk or cased, dry, wet, fresh, frozen, canned, bottled, boxed or bagged, Parity Food Manufacturing provides the tools to manage your business. Parity manufacturing can be scaled to fit any size business, from small to large plants, to multiple-line or multiple-plant production.

Formulation (Bill of Material) Management

Parity Manufacturing provides visual tools for creating, reviewing, updating, and organizing product formulas. Formulas may be managed by a user-defined type (such as, Production or R&D) and by activity status. The system provides powerful, easy-to-use tools for creating, duplicating, updating, archiving, and reviewing product formulations, which are used for costing, manufacturing analysis, and production planning. Formulas may be queried by product, formula type, process, resource, where-used in products, where-used in other formulas, date created, date modified, and date last used. ‘Version control’ is a feature that allows the user to save and copy original formulas and make changes to the copy, enabling clean, easy tracking of formulation changes for auditing and tracing.

Product formulations may reference sub-formulas or ‘resource sets’ for simplified accounting of processing steps, labor, materials, and other resources that are applied to multiple products. Sub-formulas may be defined only once but applied to any number of product formulations. The system supports environments where there are alternative methods or multiple manufacturing facilities for a product. A single product may reference any number of alternative formulations. If desired, costing formulas may be defined separately from production formulations.

Parity Manufacturing supports operations with multiple outputs from a single raw material. Breakdown, grading, sorting, blending, and other primary processing activities may produce a number of different products or refined materials. A single formula may combine various types of processing, packaging, and assembly steps. Resources may be expressed by reference to inputs, outputs, production runs, processing time, and other components used.

Printed formulations may be presented in either product views or process views, including or excluding costs, showing standard or scaled batch sizes.

Scalable Production

Formulas may be scaled to batch size based on either inputs or outputs. Formulations for materials usage may be expressed in units or relative percentages, and in the various units of measure in which the resources are managed. Formulas may be converted to common units of measure for weight, fill, time, etc. Materials may be expressed in different units of measure for storage and formulation.

Yields & Variances

For many food manufacturing operations, raw materials and ingredients represent the most significant controllable cost. Even where labor or automated facilities represent dominant costs, managing materials usage is always important. Parity Manufacturing is built for the food manufacturing industry, from the primary break-down processes through assembly and packaging. Each step may require a different approach to tracking, monitoring and measuring materials yield, line losses, spillage and usage. The ability to manage materials costs from procurement through usage in production is a fundamental advantage of Parity Food Manufacturing.
